Evolution

A brooch inspired by Dale Chihuly, Helen Britton, and the Japanese art of Kintsugi, it consists of shattered pottery and copper that has been dipped in a liver of sulfur patina to turn it black. It was hand-sawed and is constructed using solder and rivets. On the back, the patina is slightly removed to create a texture similar to that of the raw pottery peeking out the front cutouts.
